Election: Sheffield

Its now being reported on The Telegraph’s feed that disenfranchised voters in Sheffield are blockading the streets to prevent ballot boxes to be removed.

There have been some comments made on Twitter from American citizens that we are now having a taste of what they experienced in 2004 yet its clear that here things are slightly different. We have police on the streets breaking crowds of people who are demanding to exercise the “rights” that they are so often reminded they have and police deployed to prevent them.

More than 600 have been turned away in Chester because the polling list had not been updated despite all 600 being registered to vote.

Tonight is showing the electoral system to be endemically flawed and our political system to have very little concern for the reality of people casting their votes. Lets not worry about the part where we ask people to give us their power to decide.
